The road in the picture looks like Huntmar to me, just past Richardson Side Road... yes?

you may be correct as the second picture in the series gives away the Scotia Bank Place.....at least I think that is the case. :-)

Holy crap ... shitty! That Civic is now the perfect race car candidate! I should see if there are any flooded BMWs at auction next week
But it really does suck for the people affected. Our 50+ year old house with a seized sump pump fortunately didn't have any issues.

I have dealt with mild flooding of an unfurnished basement, and hated it -- this is clearly much worse. Best of luck with everything.

Then I was right, I drove through that are likely not long before this may have happened...the water at Terry Fox and Castlefrank was absolutely insane....lots of spill over from the ditches....and no place for the water to go.
On another note, did you hear about the massive sink hole in Toronto??

That article also mentions West Ridge Dr. in Stittsville... pretty close to my house.
I find that interesting because essentially all of the development on and around West Ridge is fairly new (within past 10 years) and you'd think they would have built it appropriately.
Maybe a sign of slipping building standards?

Sorry to see that man, what part of Kanata is your house? We're supposed to take possession of our new home in Kanata tomorrow, went over yesterday and there had been a flood and they had to rip all the basement out (back to the studs). Now we're screwing around with the lawyer and the owners insurance company trying to figure out how to get it fixed after we take possession. Pain the ass... I drove around the part of the subdivision where our new house is and there were 14 houses with carpet and drywall bits out front. Its almost every other house, the city had the road dug up to fix the storm sewer.
Here are some pics I grabbed:

As of right now its on. Lots of legal stuff to do today, hopefully my lawyer is competent. Supposed to sign paperwork this aft, and close tomorrow. Hopefully it all works out.
