Dealership warranty repair takes too longer than expected..

Hello guys

my car has some problems with it's body work (mechanical) and went to BMW Toronto last month.

I spoke with the service manager and he said he will ask BMW Canada to see if they can cover my fix even if I am out of warranty few years. so called goodwill repair. BMW Toronto brought my car to the bodyshop they work with.

They estimated 2-3 weeks and I have to pay for my loaner (Honda Civic 4 door). I called 2 weeks after to see how long the work has been done and they said that they need at least 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks (today) I called them again then they said they called the bodyshop they work with then they told them that they need another 2 weeks. At this point bodyshop told BMW Toronto that they will cover my rental cost from today.

Now, I can't join bimmercruise whatsoever events coming up soon and this is my last year in Canada and I seriously hate to drive Civic.

I know it's a goodwill repair but takes too much than I expected and I am sick of driving a civic.

Is there anything I can do at this point? I mean if they gave BMW as a loaner I won't mind wait longer but now I am driving a civic which is a bit of experience.

Am I just out of the luck or is there anything I can do about it? (like ask them to give me a BMW as a loner etc.)

Thanks for your input in advance and have a good night guys.

Get on their case. They are giving you the run-around.

You were out of warranty for a few years and its covered under goodwill and the bodyshop is taking too long to repair it and willing to cover the rental and yet you are complaining driving a civic, what's wrong with this picture?

So, if it is a BMW loaner you are willing to wait !!!!

Think about the that you will miss the biggest event of the year and I don't even know if I will have a chance to join (especially cruise in bimmercruise part) ever in my life once I leave Canada.

and I am NOT going to join cruise with a civic with discount sticker on bumper.

yes I will wait even a month if they give one of e90 323 as a loaner. In this case I can join any events I like.

see heres the thing, i use to work for discount. they will never give u the bmw, unless you pay it. which u shudve been able to do when u first got the rental, cause right now if u would've been discount would be loosing money big time.

cause right with the shop paying ur rental, they're probably covering it under internal which means they pay like 19$ a day for the car no matter what car, lol. now the shop is paying for ur rental, theres no way unless you return it and ask and ask for a bmw, but good luck there very rare at discount. should look for hoj car rentals.

When you deal with a bodyshop, their estimate of repair is always out by a mile.. 2 weeks can stretched to 3,4 and 5 weeks.

So, your major complain is that you cannot join any cruise with the rental civic, ok.. look at it this way.. presumely you have a BMW as a rental then you go to the BMW cruise, the car doesnt belongs to you. .so whats the point?

If you really need to attend one of this cruise, you can always make a trip back or you could have rented on the BMW cruise day a Porsche or another BMW, its an option that you could have taken if that cruise is that important to you.

Relax and be patient.. eventually your car will be ready and you can enjoy driving your BMW again...I see nothing wrong driving a civic, they are good car...

BMW is doing a goodwill repair on your car, they are also paying for a rental vehicle and you are complaining? Y By the sounds of it they are giving you a run arround, so what! You will get your car back fixed and not costing you a dime. My suggestion is call them back or go to see them every 3-4 days. Don't get angry or be rude to them. Let them know you need your car back for personal reasons.
