Jay has already accomplished everything i would've set out to do in this thread.

So, yeah.

If you're scurred, raise the car back up.

If you're not, go to court. You'll likely not have too many issues, particularly if you have a clean (ish) record.

And if you really want to get technical, a popular criticism of communism is the lack of private ownership. They didn't take his car, they took his plates. Plates are government property.

Listen, I completely agree, the police do have too much power. And they have no idea what they're talking about. But I have yet to hear one person complain about having their plates pulled that DIDN'T have at least one illegal modification to the car. In this case all it seems to be is the headlights (the too low thing and the brakes are not laws at all), which sucks for him, but the law was broken.
There was private ownership in communist countries - most people owned their homes or apartments. Also private business existed, but not on a large corporation scale.

OP, post a picture of your car. You said the police complained about your HID's, i'm curious to see what type of projectors you are running on your car.

Sorry to say, but to all of you going on and on about lambos with H.I.D's and slotted breaks, You do realize that it comes from the factory like that. The car was designed that way!

Now when you start adding shit to your car. Yes technically bigger brakes mean better stopping power. But to the cops, how do they know the installation was done properly?

4-5 point racing harness' are much safer then your average seat belt, but after you installed it in your back yard has any misitry licenced tech checked to make sure it meets the "seat belt safety specs...."

I hope you guys realize that and think about it before you start saying things like oh but lambos have this and that why cant I?

As for me, My car is going back up so I wont have to worry about the low issue, I know a lot of guys who have had their plates pulled recently because of this, and its just not worth the hassel!

^^ Nice...Thanks man..!! What is the drop you're looking for 1.5 front 1" rear?

Currently i'm at about 2.2 front and 1.5 rear. I like it, but not sure if it's a good height without getting in trouble with the police.

I am currently running stock 15's though

maybe when I install the bigger rims, it will look more appropriate

...saying this is not like communism is the most ignorant thing ive ever heard....i came from a communistic country....and it seems as though everyone who did live in communism agrees, and the ones who didnt, have no idea.

The point is: communism is a POLITICAL IDEAL. Communist countries became police states, but that has nothing to do with (by definition) communism.

Sucks that the plates got pulled, but I have to ask: how were you driving at the time? I have a co-worker that's always getting busted for "stupid" charges, but he does attract attention. What do you mean that the rears were vented brakes, and the fronts were not?
Finally, 5 point harnesses without cages are not safer than DOT approved and tested 3 points. I'd hate to roll over a car that holds my head right where the roof wants to be....
I'm not trying to pick a fight....
