^ yes back in the olden days...

so im sure it will be removable or alterable...but why do they even bother in the 1st place?

so did any1 hear of bill42-a yet?
yeah its the bill that makes it law -with up to 1yr in jail for non compliance-
that we all must wear Hockey Helmets anytime in public, for our safey!
but of course any old helmet won't do, you'll of course need the gov certified
gps tracked one with air bags @ $3K +

The only real problem I have with this law is that the only people that are affected are those buying new cars (unless they make it mandatory to get your car modified to get licensed, and make all non-efi cars aren't road worthy).

I'd say this is just posturing. They know it'll never pass but some politician wants to either get his name in the papers or get his message out.
Actually, New Brunswick is 110, or even 115 :O

you hear them saying keep racing on the track, now with this limiter, going to the track is pointless. enjoy your freedom cause canada is becoming a dictatorship.
Correction, ONTARIO is a dictatorship.

There are many reason why this will never become law but one of them is that the government would lose a lot of money it gets now from speeding fines..

im willing to bet Most speeding fines are given in residential/school communities.

AKA doing 60 in a 40 zone.
Doing 80 in a 60 zone, etc.

I dont think they nab that many people on highways, its rare to get a ticket doing 20km/h over on a highway since thats usualy the flow of traffic.

Its not rare to get a ticket doing 20 over in a 60 zone though.

Just for everyone's info. It is montana that used to have the autobahn. Blame the federal government for them not having it anymore (Fed pulled funding for all highways without a posted speed limit. The posted limit in most of montana now is 75 or 80 mph. In the midwest, people speed like ****ING CRAZY. i flew through most of south dakota and minnesota on cruise control at 100mph+ (First day with the e30), and people were still passing me now and then.

It goes to the government and what they do with it depends..

Look just how many people lose their cars for 7 days on long weekends, let's say they get $1000 on average from each ticket given it's a lot of money.
