I've done it a few times for work... sometimes I'll be given project work, and it just involves sitting in front of a computer and plugging away at stuff. I did a few weeks at home doing that to save on the commute... but I can't say that I wouldn't have gotten more done if I was at the office.

I was never distracted by TV etc. at home. My biggest distraction was my gf. She'd always crave attention and I ended up doing stuff with her 90% of the time and then staying up late to get some work done.

Exactly. I'm sort of an IT consultant too. Gf works from home too, I presume.

I worked at home for a while when I worked for IBM doing internal tech support. It was awesome; I'd wake up 5 minutes before my shift, eat, watch TV, play video games, move around anywhere around my house (wireless laptop, wireless headset), in the summer I even worked out in the backyard. I could eat whenever, take a shower at lunch, and when my shift was done I was already home, ready to go do whatever I wanted. The only issue I had was in the winter months I sort of felt like I was going through cabin fever (home all day, home at night), had I snowboarded at the time I'm sure I wouldn't have had that problem.

My dad does wholesale from home - registered business license and everything. He got hit with some 270-2004 R1C S13.1 bylaw. It doesn't make sense at all as nowhere in it does it say "retail/wholesale of commercial goods cannot be sold through a household". So now we have to argue with CityHall about it.

We know who it was. My dad sold some stuff to her for her shop and she literally told him "you shouldn't sell it for so cheap, i'm losing customers and can't afford the shop".
I'm going to call the bylaw officer today. I read the whole bylaw and nowhere in it does it say anything about it. And what annoys me more is, when I registered both Master Business Licenses. It gave the option to register home address as business address - like wtf, why allow that if its a direct conflict of the bylaw.
