Not unless you're in sales, but that can be said for sales jobs in any industry
An interesting quote from a recent business week article:
Quote:

Surprising statistic: In the midst of the worst recession in a generation or more, with 13 million people unemployed (in the U.S) , there are approximately 3 million jobs that employers are actively recruiting for but so far have been unable to fill. That's more job openings than the entire population of Mississippi.

You just have to find a niche skill, a general degree doesn't cut it no more

My cousin been getting her masters like for ever, her family is "urging" her to find a job instead of staying in university for so many courses upgrading her skills for every imaginable classes. Her brother even joked that she doesnt want to leave university to find a real job,she having too much fun.Her dad quietly talks about all the nice looking degrees on her wall but the degrees dont pay for food and rent.I know soooo many degree holders working at jobs that is not even close to what they studied for, there is a bit of disappointment they couldnt find a job in their studies but at least they are working, whats the unemployment rate in Ontario, about %8 on paper but %12 in the real world.

Tho there are jobs out there we all pride ourselves of getting the ultimate paying job and passing on the so-so pay levels. Given the market out there the employers are holding the cards with compensation.

They changed the structure for the job, so no company car to start.
