I actually have contemplated getting this done myself if no on buys my 328. I'd also be interested in how its done. Seems like everyone wants to do it but no one knows how to me. lol

I have the black headliner in my 328is and find it very pleasant. Doesn't get dirty anything as quickly and I find it better for driving too.

i put the black headliner in my 328i sedan last fall. looks so much better with everything black! doesn't get as dirty either. I just replaced everything with black parts from an m3. Takes about an hour or so to pull everything out and replace with the black.

i also have acquired the parts required to do this swap. headliner, pillars, visors and map light panel (sunroof button) are standard and available.
the tricky bit is the sunroof panel. its part of the whole sunroof slide tray and a lot of work to remove. I've removed mine but wasn't able to find someone who was willing to just sell that and not the whole sunroof tray for obvious reasons.
I'm thinking i will either have my panel re trimmed or paint it. not sure yet as its not high on my priority list.

^^^ I bought fabric spray paint and painted the panel in the car.... looks perfect, and was far less work. Cover the seats, carpet,etc... with an old sheet or two, and spray it while you've got the headliner out.
