Coming to think of it I have seen a lot more 1 series than the Genesis....and more of the '07+ S/C Tiburons than the Genesis. A lot of people predicted this car to be more of a success.

Hyundai has been one of the only car manufacturer's to make money as of late, Toyota even lost money (as of course GM, etc).

hrm...the concept of a smaller, more potent class in bmw's lineup is excellent, but the execution didnt go so well. My beefs are the head lights (way too bugeye/large for a car like this), and the lack of significant price and weight difference. It's like they compacted a 3 series and sold it to you for 10% off because it got uglier.

BMW increased the size of the 3's with each new generation of the car, Take a look of the size and compare to an E30, pretty close. Also the car looks decent as is. There will be more models coming to north america, our market is changing right now, didn't they just bring that tourge monster twin turbo 3 series desiel over???

now if this concept makes it on the road.....

It is a cute car.... It is not something I would drive. It would be great for the fairer sex.

well if none of you guys dont like the 135, you can simply spend 10,000 dollars to have a slower, bigger worse handling 335i.

keep in mind, stage 2 dinan package for 11,000 shipped would make your 135 ridicolously quicker then an M3.

Can i just put some things to perspective here.

The 1 series was meant to be a Entry Level bmw, for example, the 1 series 120D 3 door. In Europe, it is also priced alot more appropriately. Its just here in north america that its some kind of miracle sports car. The 1 series was meant to be frugal, not a 3.0L twin turbo...

It was never meant to be compared to the is250, 3 series etc. IT IS ENTRY LEVEL.

As for north american pricing, clearly the CEOs are retards

I am very surprised at howe many people do NOT like the 1series.

I really like its styling, especially lowered with some sort of a lip, and it definitely packs enough punch to keep one happy.

the 1 series is your present day E30, your kids will be racing these in about 10 years.

Oh no ... I went with my wife and she always overpacks! I will try and see if I can find a photo of our stuffed car. The cargo cover was barely closing but it still closed and we parked anywhere we wanted as the suitcases were always out of sight. This was a perfect car for that trip!

I had a lot of fun going up and down mountain passes in the Alps in Switzerland, Italy and France in our little 120d wagon. What a ride!

and being "barely cheaper than the 3s" ... how do you justify 25% price difference (135i $41700 vs 335i $50600) slightly different? I must be in a slightly different tax bracket not to understand ....
