Have any of you taken a 335 Twin turbo for a ride...I mean really taken it for a ride????!!!!
I have just after PDI. with less then 5k. both conv and coupe...really neat with the paddle shift!!!! doesn't even come close to comparison to what bmw has produced in the past. It's a rocket....it's even faster off the line then the M3. before you argue this point....I know because I have close friends who work for bmw. off the record...you have no idea what these cars go through when techs take them out before selling...LOL..

Isn't that really bad for the cars, as they need to be broken in first???

Yup I've driven a 335i. I've never owned and thus never drive F/I cars so I noticed the turbo lag right away. It's minimal but it's there. And it's heavy as hell. Great car for a DD though.
And I doubt it's faster off the line than the M3. Even though the M3 is heavier it's got more torque, instant torque and LSD.

correction:
the 335i is rated at 300 hp and 300 ft. lbs of torque
the new M3, although rated at 414 hp, makes a shabby 295 ft. lbs of torque
hello. that's LESS Torque for all of you math buffs out there, maybe not by MUCH but its pretty ridiculous when you take into account that the M3 is tagged at about $20,000 more than the (my) 335.
...and the M3 weighs more!! (as you stated) -- 1880 lbs (curb weight) vs. the 335 at 1815 lbs (curb weight) (E93 Convertible Models Compared)
anyway... a "DD" the does 0-100 kms in 5.8 seconds isn't bad IMO... especially since the M3 is rated at 0-100 kms in 5.3 seconds. (E93 Manual 6-Spd Convertible Models Compared)
