you shorten the life span of the shocks dramatically, as in they will blow in a matter of days (depending on how old they are). Fronts are a must, rears will last awhile.

If you care about how your car rides, atleast get some decent front shocks. (Koni / Bilstein)

ive known people that lasted quite a while on stock shocks with apex springs (60mm). This 40mm drop shouldnt be near as bad.
