I wanted to keep my stock deck and use the Sirius satellite unit as I have it set up at home and want to be able to take it out and use it in the house/cottage etc, so this is what I came up with:
First off I purchased an Aux unit from BSM online for $80 including tax and shipping.
Bought a cigarette lighter adapter from Canadian Tire for $10.
Female to female 1/8 adapter from the source $3.
Plugged into the CD changer wires in the trunk
ran and buried all the wiring under the carpet and directly through the middle console.
The Sirius unit fit by itself in the tray holder without the ash tray in, but would not fit with the base unit an all the wiring coming out of the back of it.
So, using a jigsaw I cut the underside of the ash tray console in half and used Velcro to keep the Sirius suspended, and easy removable. (The ash tray still goes in and all cuts are hidden if I were to sell the car).
The plastic piece under the ash tray used to push up the tray worked perfectly to also help suspend/secure the unit. (I'll try to get pics of this).
To get power for the Sirius I spliced into the cigarette lighter and attached the Cig adapter and plugged in the Sirius and buried it behind the center console.
I could have buried the aux input wires completely, but I wanted to be able to plug in a mp3 player, phone etc later so I used the female to female adapter and made an accessible Aux input inside the Sunglasses holder.
Final Result. I kept the older style Sirius unit, because the red/orange display was similar to gauges:
