While you're at it, switch to teksavvy. You won't get 7meg, but you'll get service from people that know what they are doing, and you can avoid throttle with MLPPPEO.

I'm with velcom. What is MLPPPEO? I suppose I will google when I got the time.

This is so weird that some of you have been throttled.

Ive been on Rogers Extreme for as long as the service existed and was never really throttled.. Maybe for a bout a month or so.. then it ended and never showed its face again. Ive been getting 1.2 mb/s for the longest while now - and like gamite, on public trackers.

I think Rogers is making to much money from Over users (going over the 95 gb limit.)

I don't get it. For the last little while torrents were slow as f**k, and now today, i saw 300kbps-550kbps range!?? Weird, and a week ago, my I.P changed from rogers. Weird shit has been going on.

Were you with Rogers as a beta tester before they rolled out their service to the general public? My cousin was one of those people and according to him he also gets a meg when downloading. He says that's because he was setup to have his own dedicated line when beta testing. He apparently doesn't share his line with his neighbors. I don't know how true it is, but it's one explanation for his high speeds. You may be in the same boat.

Rogers is now blocking limewire. Not everyone is effected yet. Mine stopped working months ago, but my friend who's also with Rogers had his limewire working up until a couple of weeks ago. Bell is also doing something similar except they haven't totally blocked limewire. You can still connect and download, but speeds are apparently very slow.

Limewire wont even connect me now .. I never had problems before but I was using Limewire Lite. I think I will switch back just to try. What is everyone else using for mp3 downloads?

EDIT: I just installed something called frostwire .. works great and let me connect to limewire network

hmm that may be true because I get between 1.1 and 1.3 mb/s consistently.. Even during prime time. Ive been with them for ages so I dont know... could be it, but I dont recall being a "beta tester" for them....

but im happy wiht the service (except for the download cap of 95 gb)
