X5-M and X6-M microsite site up

In just under 30 days we will get our first chance to see what performance modifications BMW’s M engineers have applied to the X5 and X6 SUVs and finally determine whether these two behemoths are worthy of wearing the storied M badge.

The microsite, contains plenty of information about the upcoming vehicles, including images of actual prototypes and a couple of videos from behind the wheel. The X5 M and X6 M models are expected to feature an uprated version of BMW’s twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8 engine. According to previous reports, output could be as high as 507hp (373kW) and 516lb-ft (700Nm) of torque – enough for 0-60mph times of less than five seconds and more than enough to reach the company’s usual 155mph electronically governed top speed.

UPDATE: Jalopnik noticed that the source code of the minisite revealed a tag cloud with such interesting tags as "550 bhp", "Twin Scroll Twin Turbo", "V8" and, our favorite, "gills".

Gas is far from any concern for someone who can put 100K down on a SUV.

i also have a 2003 acura mdx...and surprisingly my x5 is far better in fuel...even after looking at the tank sizes and engine sizes...more power would be nice!

yeah the X5 isn't actually too bad on gas! an M version of the X5 will be tough on it though haha
