Well, the project is a go. My roof panel will be done is a few weeks. The company is also making an overlay for a demo (the owner has an e36 M3, so he's doing it on his car).

What's the point of the overlay guys? Wouldn't you see it stick up a little bit? and it's just added on top, kind of like........RICE!? hehehe

Still, very impressive. I bet you could you cut out the roof (and sunroof) but leave the about 6" to 8" all the way around and just bond this to the remaining sheet metal. Even cooler would be to lose the headliner and bond it from the INSIDE, then mold the lip on the outside with some urethane and clearcoat everything.. CF headliner FTW. Done right it could be safe(ish) and look like an M6.
