project: power/heated retrofit

Okay, so hopefully this week the nice weather is going to encourage me to begin the process of switching my car over from manual cloth to power/heated leather seats. Found a great DIY for the power part, still searching for some help on the heated hook-up. Has anyone performed this before & could offer any suggestions or tips? Also looking for a parts list for the heated seat connectors.

Any help would be great! I'll try & keep this updated over the next while to help anyone else thinking of taking this on

what is there so hard about it???? the leather seats mount to the same holes as the originals, the heater element connects to the existing one!! all you need is to pull cables with power!!! if someone can install a system in their car, they can tackle this no problem!! my .02 cents!! but good luck with the install!

It's more of an issue of WHERE the wiring all goes & making sure that the proper connectors are used. I understand it's not a difficult job; more time consuming than anything. And if it helps someone else so it's not so time consuming the next time; then job well done!

My car started out with manual seats as well and didn't have any connections for power. But it literally took me 20 mins to splice and dice wires and not I have heated power seats

The heated seats part after you get all the buttons you need isn't too difficult.

Pm 325iguy... he has a parts car, and likely has the harnesses, switches, etc... that you need.

Keep me posted on this swap. I did a seat swap this summer and i wanna get the heated seat portion up and running. I should still have all the wires from my old car, the only thing is i want to do this properly, and i'm pretty sure that means i'm gonna have to pull out all my carpet, which will be very time consuming!

Gee, I want manual seats. I find the power seats too high even at the lowest setting.
