Non as RP is not BMW LL01 approved nor does it meet the recommended specs. Stick with Mobil 1 0W40 or Castrol 0W30 (made in Germany).

+1, when i was using RP it felt like my engine was burning it too fast...

not sure if that makes sense lol

I was using Castrol Synthetic 5w-30 and noticed it was burning it very fast... I know that these type of engines burn more then others, and for sure the type of oil used contributes to that. I've always liked mobil 1, I think ill go with Mobil 1 0W40 when i pull it out of storage i guess.... I just heard good things about Royal Purple and wanted to make sure if it was worth it...


Does anyone reccommend any additives to enhance performance or help slow the oil burning process?

Syntec 5W30 doesn't meet the specs either. Only German 0W30 is suitable.

Good to know! Mobil 1 for my next oil change and on..... probably easier to find then German Castrol Syntec

Actually we are pretty lucky here in Canada. German Castrol 0W30 is sold at Walmart and Partsource. Mobil 1 0W40 can be found at Partsource and the odd CT.

to b ehonest ive heard of 0W40 but i never seen it! Never really knew that the 0 existed! i thought the lowest was 5.

Good to know, 0w40 Mobil 1 is the way to go i guess, for value and performace, and availability
