Broken Windshield.....Again

Does anyone have any hook-ups on windshield replacements? Or know of anywhere that's good?

Second windshield in 5 months.

Thanks.

Putting a windshield on in November is like throwing money away. Wait until spring.

stop scooping people over your hood an into the windshield!! If your gona go on a road kill rampage, drive over them, not under! This way you wont even have to clean up the blood

+1, plus spend money and get a better quality windshield, not the cheap $2-300 stuff, and don't tailgate!

No I'm not going to put crap on my car. I saw this link:

http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112144

Called Johnathan may go with w/PPG premium glass. Waiting for him to call back with his price.

Never tailgate.

all the salt and gravel thats on the roads.. your windshield gets beaten. and if you even get a chip in the winter, the cold will make it a full crack!

bumping up an old thread...

noticed over the weekend that on my passenger side upper windshield at the tinted area section (top trim moulding to just below the tint line) i have a hairline crack. im going to monitor the progression of the crack and hopefully if it doesnt get any longer i'll get it replaced in spring, but for now would like to know of any good reputable shops within brampton - GTA area that does a good job in preparation and premuim glass (PPG) with warranty. I noted the guy (jonothan alfred) in the thread and would like to know if anybody has used this person recently and what they thought of him. In short, i do not want rust appearing within a month or 2 after replacement because of shoddy work. One last thing, depending on how much of a deductable my insurance gives me, is it good to go thru insurance or pay it out right without insurance claim? thanks.

^^ probably best to avoid the insurance. The difference in price will only be a few hundred, and that's likely less than risking an insurance rate change due to a claim.

try not to replace your windshield in thewinter, do wait till spring..... but if it gets too big, dont do the slightest illigal thing on the road. i almost got a tick for having a crack in my windshield, instead he gave me un-nessisary noise ticket.

1) last year, both my cars had cracked windshields. Unless your'e a total newb you can talk your way out of a ticket.
2) amco auto glass by dixie rd (might be off dixie, search online, there's a 15% off coupon. also, if you're smooth, they might let you pay cash + give you a better deal)
3) if your windshield is cracking from a corner up (or down) it was probably not installed correctly (or you have rust by the window mounting points in the corners. Either way, check that out first.
