if it was working fine before chances are you just have air in you system and just need to bleed it. Also make sure you clutch fan is working properly if you still have one.

seems like your thermostat is busted, but have some people that know what they are doing look at it.

The overheating problem when sitting is clutch fan, the slow warm up is thermostat...Bring to Bimmersport and have it looked at!

Thermoswitch

Could also be the thermoswitch (the thing that tells the fan to come on when the rad gets hot).

If you plan on keeping the car, replace the entire cooling system; rad, hoses, thermostat, thermoswitch, fan, expansion tank, etc.

It's a $500 package, but worth it for peace of mind and reliable motoring.

The electric fan only comes on when the AC is on, or temp goes in the red. Otherwise the MECHANICAL fan does the job of cooling the engine...So the switch is out of the question in this case...

Did you guys not notice what he mentioned? ...takes forever for the air to warm. It could just be air in the system, try bleeding!

Hows your coolant level? Definately check for air and your thermostat maybe shot. Have you done the fan delete mod?

I'm sure bimmersport will take care of you...
