changing license plate light on an e36

hey guys..one of the lights for my license plate is burned out or loose....and I want to tighten it or change it but i forgot how to take it out. I know I unscrew the 4 bolts below and then i pull the tray out but then I see the two black things that hold the bulbs. I forgot how to go from here. I saw the instructions manual and it says to pull it down but it won't budget and I don't want to break it. If someone could help me out that would be great! Thanks.

I thought they had to be slid sideways and then down. I have 2 spares in the garage. If I can get to them, I'll try and take a pic for you...

damn your car is minty man, those have probably never been taken out. When brand new, the rubber seals on the lights "glue" the light housing into the trunk. Gently pry with a flathead screwdriver, they'll come out.

You only have to do this the first time you take them out, afterwards it will be easy.

Yea, what he said. I just changed mine and they pull out although they get stuck from being there over tme. Get a thin knife and carefully work your way around the plastic and it will pull out.
