You need to keep in mind that Global Warming has also occurred on Mars during the same period because the number of sun spots was increasing.

The reason it has been colder this year is because the sun is relatively dormant and there are fewer sunspots.
If the heater (aka the sun) is on high or on low - insulation (carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane etc.) won't make much of a difference.
