Hey guys I have a 2004 530i just noticed that the exclamation sign comes and goes near the D (drive) on the dash...I looked in the manual and it doesnt really say anything? Could it be a tranny issue? Has anyone hear of any transmission problems with this nanny.
Is it a circle with exclamation mark, (actually gear with exclamation mark?) If so it means that the EGS (transmission control module) has detected a fault in the transmission system wish causes the EGS to run the Transmission in a "Safe Mode".
Call in and book an appointment to have the EGS scanned. It could be Major or Minor,either way, you will not know until its scanned.
no it's not a circle, its a triagle with an exclamation mark and the car runs the fine (definatly not in safe mode). I can't find anything in the manual???? very strange....might have to take it to charlie.
Look up the manual section on Dynamic Stability Control. It means the ABS sensors are limiting wheelspin. Go and floor it in the snow, you'll see it light up solid.
no its not traction control or dynamic stability control i know those signs and there yellow...this is just a tiny little sign right next to the D its the same colour as the D, It shows the sign in the manual but dosnt say what it s there for??????
