Coilovers would the most flexible.

Pick a setting for the street.
Dial it in for the track.

I don't know about the "floored" set up for the track....pro's and con's.
Track junkies will let you know soon. That's my 2 cents....

mm how r like bilsten coilovers. or wats the best coilovers for E36s..
like ultimatex5 said..trackday/dailydriver...
bcuz ive never driven a E36 with coilovers but
ive driven a car with coilovers and they seem to be kinda bouncy
like every little bump u hit. car wud bounce really stiff .
they were stance coilovers.

DDM has a good deal on now for their coil over setup (it has bilstein internals).

Personally I run TC Kline coil overs on the Z3 and the M3 has bilstein sports with OE springs (daily driver).

I've got the M package on my 328is with some Bilsteins, quite good on track. But I can feel every crack in the pavement on shitty Ottawa roads. It's not as bad as some of the aftermarket suspensions I've ridden in though.
