"M" X6 spyshots

BMW’s X6 crossover utility vehicle is already one potent ‘ute — even in base 335-guise — but BMW will be upping the X6’s fun factor with an even more high-performance M version. Our spies have once again spotted M-treated X6, sporting some dead giveaways that this isn’t the standard car.


Although BMW still won’t confirm the M version of the X6, the side vents and dual exhaust on each side give away the true identity of this not-so-mild-mannered X6. Built to compete with Porsche’s Cayenne Turbo, Mercedes-Benz’s ML63 AMG and other high-performance crossovers, the X6 M may very well be in a class of it’s own.

Although earlier rumors had the X6 M pegged for the same 5.0L V10 found in the M5 — or even a next-generation twin-turbo V10 — the performance minded ‘ute will likely do with BMW’s latest 4.4L V8.

We’re expecting BMW to make an official announcement about the X6 xDrive M - and its rumored 500+ horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 engine - before the end of the year, and sales to begin early next summer.

I think now is a bad time to realese this? BMW will not sell.

i think your right, this will be a tough sale. If you go to your local dealer you will find that all '08 3.0l are sold while they still have quite a few 4.8ls (I'm referring to the X5). And with regards to the x6, i still haven't seen a single 5.0l only the 3.5. So regardless for this time period it really will be a tough sell

Here all 3.0 are way more expensive than a similar age and milage 4.4 , 4.6, ...etc
Price difference is almost 30%.
Sales on diesels though is still going strong.
Porche Cayennes are also dirt cheap now. Same price as a Landcruiser diesel or less.
