I do. Put that guy in a field of race prepped E36s, not Camaros and EG civics, see what it looks like then.

I disagree. I think it will do just as well.

It's interesting to see the track before the major overhaul.

It was so narrow!

+1, until they went through 7/8 I was going to ask why the video is labeled as being at Mt Tremblant when it looks like PIR or something.

are we forgetting that the E34 M5 was praised as one of the best handling 4 door sedans out there?

and u guys also fail to realize that an e34chassis weighs the same as an e36 chassis. its all the additional comfort and luxury options that BMW installed that weigh it down...besides, e36's are dime a dozen, have some originality...

The e36 M3 wasn't here at that time, and a Euro-spec version was not legal either. The M5 was the only available 'quick' BMW at the time, so I think it did amazing considering what they were given. The M5 had the highest top speeds of all the cars in the series!!

Fair enough. What were the other cars in the series? I saw one Porsche but it looks like only a 924.

I still can't get over how weird that car looks though. It's like an inch off the ground yet the shocks seem pretty soft - like a civic on chopped springs. But it was clearly working.

That white, orange and blue Dicom Porsche 968 actually ended up winning the series in '95... Dunno what happened in '94. Other notable cars were the Mustang Cobra, a slew of Chev Camaros and Pontiac Firebirds. There were a few 944s also, the only fast one was the Richard Spenard-driven 944S2, but it was a hardcore cheater car...
