Like E30 kid89 said .. take pics. I know I had an issue when I was changing the panel on my 87 325is. Now my sunroof headliner panel is catching as the fabric wrinkled up and catches in the rail. I don't care as the interior is getting gutted in the spring.

I know one thing ... forget what the manual says ... slide the sunroof closed completely (they say almost all the way) and then slide the headliner piece in place where it should roughly clip in, then open the roof a little and press the clips into the panel and you should be done.

I hope that's what you're wondering ... if not, take pics and we'll try and help.
