Nik,
www.kormanfastbmw.com/turbos.htm has a kit for under $5000 USD (not including installation).  I was thinking of going that route with my 2.7L eta but doing the M50 conversion was considerably cheaper. With the money you save from doing a coversion you can add peformance to the M50 to get that extra HP to match the turbo....and an added bonus you have a more reliable engine under the hood.

M50E30....
trur the M50 conversion is cheaper, but you will not get the same HP outta the motor as you would a turbo....

A naturaly aspirated M50 with mods will probably be better than the turbo/supercharged M20 due to reliablity. Look at the long term picture. That NA M50 will be running alot longer than that FI M20.
