Considering the amount of suspension work and kit the STi has it just shows how good the GTR handles since it looks stock! And my guess is that the STi has minor engine tweaks. I ve seen better accelaration on stock turbo 2 lt Sti´s. Then again the 2lt is the better engine! Cool video though!

Guys, sti catches up every corner and has ability to pass. A few more laps sti would be out front. Not bad for a car with a msrp of 1/2 the gtr. Sure sti is not stock but 40k is alot to work with.

I dont agree. The GTR simply taking out the interior and fitting some better suspension(springs should be sufficient would still kill the Impreza! And i say this having owned a group N JDM spec STI

You would need an Impreza that would be just to silly to drive home to and most likely non street legal to beat it. And that would cost more than the GTR anyway.

Are you new? Do you realize how many sti's that have plates that are running well over 400hp? with rcomps..

Check Toronto Subaru Club and you'll see some sti's with serious mods.

After the purchase price of an sti, all thats needed is an extra 20g's to get the car some solid power and handling improvements.. which still works out to cheaper than the purchase price of a bone stock gtr.

I completely disagree with what you have said.

New? What makes you say that? You think i dont know about Imprezas? When i was unbolting heads from a 22b STis where not even available there! I am in Iceland btw. And yes you can get big BHP from an Impreza but then you would need a box and diffs to cope! Keep in mind that the fastest Impreza was untill a two years ago from here in Iceland. Here its is: http://teamice.is/?mod=frettir&view=one&id=28
As i said i owned a Group N WRX STi Spec C Type RA with the JDM spec EJ20 Engine. And if you add the price of a New Impreza and the price of suspension, engine work turbo kit and gearbox and diffs believe me its very close to a new GTR! . Mine was a 2005 model with Cusco diffs and straight cut box. Just my coilovers were 3500 € then add forged pistons AP brakes and all the ancillaries and the car was owing me over 70.000€ in parts alone (car price included) and that was with stundard VF39 turbo. Now i did all the work my self except mapping the standalone. So add anothe 10-15000 € in labour if someone was getting paid to built it. Add the cost of a decent turbo and intercooler to get it to 400bhp reliably and you are pretty close to the skyline price!Plus the car will be horrible to live with everyday! BTW i am talking about the same shape Impreza as the one on the video

There is a local Crystal grey 2006 STi here in Hamilton, I have met him a few times..He is a true car enthusiast! and owned American muscle prior, he is running 500awhp with a stg 2 block/GT35R turbo and following mods on his 06 STI.

I think he's closer to runs high 10s, and tracks the car and the porsche's have trouble. He has traction issues!
