well you should, if you ask anybody who was driven both cars, they will tell you that m3 and 135i perform almost the same, acceleration wise!! ive driven both of them and did quite a few hwy runs, they are neck to neck!! but 135i doesnt perform nearly as good as m3 does in the corners!!

they are closely lined up in power, the 135 is a bit lighter.

The broader & extra torque the 135i makes will jump the M3 off the hit. The M3 will eventually catch up, but it'll take a while, and the extra HP will only become evident in the higher gears. The 135i is no slouch.

You all know my favorite saying, HP sells cars, torque wins races, and this is a prime example of a torquier power characteristics winning over a much larger HP advantage of the M3.

i drive both all the time and go on 407 runs and yes they quite the same, believe it or not the 135 comes close in the handeling section to the m3.. the m3 only seems like its faster because if the screaming v8 under the hood

mw vs 135

i too have driven both (135 with M package and an 08 M3)

I am not that surprised that the 135 would win in straight acceleration - BUT... we all know there are more criteria to judge than just acceleration - having said that that I am not sure I am a fan of the 135 styling anyway (an important issue with me)
In addition, 135 win turbo makes me nervous concerning servicing after warranty (unless you dont mind going to your local BMW rip off centre to get an y work done)

i belive that 300 hp engine is underrated... it produces closer to 330 hp or somthing like that, some mag did the dyno, dont remember which one.

BMW always underrates their engines, it did dyno at 330, but then the M3 is most likely underrated as well. Unfortunately the 135i I drove was auto, cab and with 4 people, it did sound great though
