can someone scan my bimmer.
92 325i check engine comes on sometimes.
my on board doesn't work.
it also has an idle problem, but it comes and goes.
i'm thinking it's an air intake problem, and will clean out the
acv soon, but want to scan first. anyone have one? gta preferred.

Since you have an OBD1 car, you don't need a scanner. Do you have access to the Bentley manual? Is on section 100-9. Basically you turn the key to position 2, then press the gas pedal 5 times within 5 seconds and the check engine light will flashes some codes. You then look it up on a table and it will tell you what is wrong. It works as I did it before with my old 325is.

Could a partsource store scan a 97 328? I've got a check engine light on and it would really be nice to have it checked for free.

Just thought I would give an update - I went to partsource today and they did a scan. Turns out my O2 sensor is slow or something along those lines. The guy that did the scan said its not the end of the world so I'm not going to go nuts over it.
This ever happen to anybody else? Whats the severity of something like that?
