e36 help. looses poer and makes a bang noise from time to time

Hey guys, when ever i drive sometimes my car looses power and it has low rpm,s. it also makes a bang noise form time to time. when im pressing on the gass. and when i drive for awhile the muffler makes a rumbeling noise. i no my cat converter is very old and it needs to get changed. i just want to know if that could be the problem. im guessing its clogged or what not. let me no what you think.

Its seems that you rcar may be misfiring. Check the plugs....but what do I know.

can't man im in the army now and i guess its misfireing. how do u fix that? just new spark plugs?

probably either spark plugs, spark plug boots or ignition coil, could also be maf, fuel injector/pressure regulator or a blocked cat. it is possible that its o2 sensors, but they alone wouldn't cause misfiring as bad as you describe.

yesterday i put that fule injector cleaner into my gastank and it seems fine ofr now. but i still need to get my cat changed. hopefully thats it.
