E30 + Boost

Well, last night we got to work on putting back together a motor for my buddys E30.

Stock 325i bottom end (Thanks T.DOT_E30)
885 head, welded coolant channels
stock head gasket
ARP head studs
Custom manifold adapter (made by SEM Motorsports)
Tial 35mm WG (7psi spring)
Turbosmart dualstage manual boost controller
Spearco core intercooler
Garrett T-70(ish - it's a custom wheel/cover combo) turbo
full 3" exhaust turbo back w/ resonator and Magnaflow muffler
VEMS V3.3 ECU
Cap and rotor delete, and fitted custom magnet and sensor for cam sync, but the sensor hasn't been mounted yet so there's just a hole (for fully sequential injection).
3x2 Coil pack (VW VR6)

Going to street tune the car tomorrow, and possibly dyno the car on the weekend. Will post results when I get them.

Looking for 20psi on pump and 400+WHP

And some cell phone pics I snapped last night... enjoy!

sure did! dry as a bone this motor!

and yea, we don't slack..... fyi... we started @ 7pm yesterday, finished at 3am.. we're all payin' for it today though

pulled the old tranny and motor, separated the pan, block, head from the old... put together the new motor. Separated the IX transfer case from new tranny, put motor back in, put tranny in, started her up, blead the coolant and heat cycled the engine, retorqued the head... did a big smokey burnout.

oh and in between all that, I also pulled piston #5 on the old motor to see whats up... seems like it was just a collapsed oil control ring (which explains perfect compression but oil fouling the spark plug). Either way, the motor runs really damn smooth so we'll probably use the SETA block/crank to make a monster motor (I'm thinkin M42 pistons, etc )

I have a 2.7e crank if your interested.

Glad the motor worked out for you, it was a strong motor, just had a few oil leaks.

Well did some street tuning, and then did a few dyno pulls to fine tune and get some numbers.

Like I said I was hoping for 400WHP @ 20psi.

We got close, and I decided that 374WHP @ 18psi is plenty for 91 pump. I'm very happy, and my buddy is as well all things considered it was such a hot and humid day. On a cooler day it should make a lot more power.
