Agreed. A car like that, if it was all original is a shame to ruin with an engine swap cause cars like that you can't replace as easily!

Cool projects guys, the mcoupe is wicked! Unfortunatly I ave to agree about the hartge, it was quite a bit more unique before, if i were the owner I would have definilty tried to find a differnt e30 to put the s52 in. Either way, very cool.

that's not cool... you've just increased your bhp and your immediate profit potential, however, you've F'ed yourself and your car in the long run....
IMO... you should have kept it stock if it was an original Hartge

This car has been in the family from day 1 and I don't have any thought s of ever selling it, so resale value isn't part of the decision. The hartge motor is basically cam, head port & polish computer and hedders. After 280k or driving hard the motor gets tired and doesn't perform like it use to. So it was either a full rebuit including aftermarket cam, which no longer makes it "genuine" anymore or do a transplant and look towards the future for forced induction.
I was on the fence for a long time before I made the decision and I think I fell on the right side of the fence.

Screw these queers, you did what you wanted too.
If you don't like it, then keep to yourselves.
Nice car!
Good work Charlie.
