Roofing hookups?

Does anyone have any good roofing hook ups? or someone they went through and was cheap?

my roof has 1 layer and needs re-shingling to the 25 year Warr. one.

its about 178 square meters ..

My friend had his roof done a year ago but got lucky a while ago (still trying to find the number). and its almost twice the size as my roof for 4,000$...

The first quote i just got right now was 7.5k..

178 square meters? Ouch.

My roof is roughly 560 square feet (not counting the flat part of the roof, so just the /\ part ). We used rolls to do it. We did it our selves, cost us about 600$ in materials. Cost us 1 garbage bin that ran about 450$, though our roof was over 100 years old and had about 5 layers worth of shit on it.. Had we used shingles would have cost about 2000$ in materials (roughly), maybe bit more, maybe bit less. Depends on the deal you get/what you get,etc.

Neighbor did their roof with a roofing company cost them 5000$ for same area as my roof they used shingles though.

Id say 7500$ for a roof that size, Stripping it down, PLUS reshingling it, is a really good price.....

I may know this greek guy Nick. I have his number is my office. He does renovations , I think he does roofing as well. I will ask tomo when I get back.

I had 4 quotes in the 9 - 12k range for 25yr shingles from the big name companies. Then I realized half the price was sales commissions.

Call Mr. Grilo at (416) 248-4593 and you be dealing with the guy who does the work. I got 30yr shingles for just over 5k. He does excellent work but he's always busy. Keep calling till you get through. (pricing dates back 3 years)

No idea but it's relatively complex and the house is 3400 sq feet. The original quote for 25yr was $4300. This dates back to Oct 2004 so add a good 15% for oil inflation.

Watch out for for 25 year shingles. Shingles used to include asbestos and the could last up to 25 years. The removed asbestos in the 90s and today's shingles might last as little as 10 years. Buy better shingles if you'll be in the house 10+ years.

Be sure to specify galvanized steel valleys. This is the first point of failure.

interesting so i got the quote today for
4.2k...
he said to get the 25 year shingles because the 30 year ones look like paper...

do they have any warranty btw?

what are galvanized steel vallyes?
