Touge.ca - April 27th Mosport DDT Track lapping events
hi All bimmer drivers,
We had a great success in last year track lapping events. Now 2008 season is coming, our first lapping will be on Mosport DDT.
For the 1st track day, it will be a great opportunity for newbies/beginners to bring your rides out (even your car is stock and running all season tires), we will have a longer warmup period on April 27th, and special setup for the newbies group.
April 27th Mosport DDT signup/details here
Feel free to email info@Touge.ca for any questions. Or kindly visit www.Touge.ca for all details and lapping schedule.
For last year photos, please check out Touge.ca "Media" section.

Isn't BMWCC using the track from April 25-27?

BMWCC is using the main circuit. This club is using the DDT, two separate tracks.

How do most people like the 'straights-only' passing rule? Just curious.

I think its a good thing to ensure someone doesn't get overzealous and slam into a wall, or worse, another car.
I think most ppl don't have an issue waiting for the straight.

What about if your car is slow on the straights (like mine) and fast in turns? Then the only fun place (turns) you get held up. ??

^^ Rudy i think that there should be 2 groups for that. Beginner and Advanced. And lets say beginner has straights only passing, and advanced is anywhere.

^ Problem is, with limited time, thats not possible. It would become too unorganized very quickly.
I guess I could stick to BE for cheap track time with unlimited passing. Show those H0nduhhz what Euro is all about

honestly, me and my buddies do pass each other at the corners a lot, since we know each other and we know what we are doing. But we never do that to other drivers and anyone we don't know especially when you are not sure you are passing a newbie/some experienced/advanced, even the driver you are passing is an advanced one, he can make mistake anytime, or may be ended up he is gonna out-fast you exciting the corner.
We did have a few small groups (3 to 5 cars in a group) of corner-passing enthrusiasts in our lapping events before, as long as they keep it to themselves, don't confuse others and cause confusion/accidents/complaints, happy lapping.

And those who are sooooo slow in corners should go to Beginners group. There's no reason to be slow in an advanced group. Probably the result of unproper groups assignation. At the end, speed ends up being the same in corners for most cars, and the "need" to pass in corners simply disappears. If the slower car in front wasn't aware of you presence in the straight and is blocking you off in the corner because he didn't point you by, then that's another reason to move it to beginner...
