Removing Badge

Hi guys, i'd like to remove the "325 iS" badge off my trunk. I had the trunk repainted about 1 month ago (i was rear-ended) so the paint is relatively new and i'm not really worried about colour-fading underneath/around the badge area once it's removed (or should i be concerned about this?).

What's my best way to do this without causing any damage?

Any help would be appreciated.

use a heat gun to heat up the adhesive on the back.. about 2 minutes or so

use the heat gun in a left to right waving motion... so that the heat isn't concentrated on one spot for too long...

then while it's warm... use either fishing line.. or dental floss .l both work great.. and in a sawing motion.. work your way behind the badge..! until it's off... sometimes you'll need to reheat and then "saw" again..!!

after all is said and done... use "goo gone" to remove remaining adhesive... and a paper towel.... .. if you don't have goo gone... cooking oil works great too...

No heat gun is necessary as it can destroy paint and possibly the body of the vehicle in mere seconds. Other than that, you may use fishing line and patience. Goo Gone is a suitable OTC product, but I prefer the professional line products such as Dupont Wax Remover (I forget the exact name now). Any kind of solvent will work, though.
