Score! If you're going to change out the shift knob let me know
Hopefully the profile gasket in that m42 has already been replaced.
Do you know if it's got an LSD?

E30 M3's have an S14, 4 bannger! Still dont get why BMW would put a 4 in such a car...

No offence. Considering how E36 and E46 are losing their value, it nice to have an E30.

Wow, what a score. Congrats, although I guess you didn't have to do anything special, just right place / right time.
Hey, wanna double your money? I've got a $600 bill with your name on it. Yes, a $600 bill.

If you go back in time a bit, you will see that BMW had may race cars with 6's and its not the 4 bannger that makes the M3 what it is...If it was, then any 318is with an S14 would be a track car! I know what the S14 is good for, but i still think they had better options...

I can't believe a member as old as you, who deals with BMW's all the time doesn't know the story. I think it was even posted on the Max homepage!
They needed to for homologation reasons meet the requirements to keep it racing (in DTM races i believe). One of those requirements was to make it a 4cyl. because the car had to be the same (aerodynamically and displacement wise) as the road version, and BMW wanted to make something to compete with the 190e 16V.

I'm not saying they didnt have to do it for racing and homologation, but it wouldnt be the 1st time a car is run in limited production #, then switched for road use...

That doesn't make any sense with your first post. Now your backpedalling lol. But w/e. It just goes to show how glorified maXbimmer can make some people appear when they have a 'title' affixed to their names.
