looking at a 1994 318 cabriolet, Got questions...

how much kilometers a tank can the 1.9 liter do?
just looking for something better on gas and summer is coming
any things to look out for when looking at a convertible?
its a power top, i guess they all power tops?

had a 96 318is, only got about 450km per tank driving in the city but i needed a tuneup, you should be able to get between 5-600km per tank

What? Shouldn't you be able to get 500-600 with a 325? I can get 600+ on my 325i. Do the convertibles have smaller tanks?

From what i found out when i was in the market for a E36 Cab, the 318's were the only models to come with NON-POWER tops. Some guys have told me that it goes down easy with one person, but i still think it'd be a pain in the ass.

As for the mileage, considering the power difference between the 6cyl. engine you're not saving much on gas. Take the time and find a 325/8 cab. The 328's had a FULL power top, as opposed to the 325's which had the power top, but you had to lock the top in place!

If you were getting 550 with the 325, expect to get a solid 650-700 on the same trek with the 318 (if manual and has been maintained).
My wife has been able to manage 800ish klm in a tank a few times on road trips with a SC'd M44 powered 318is.
FYI M44 1.9l only came out in the later part of 95, a 94 will have the 1.8L M42.
