Hello all. Quick q. I just located and picked up a really clean M30 Series II engine and trans out of an e28 with under 100k kms on it. While there, I also found an '93 525i (M50, single VANOS) with 5 speed for very, very cheap.
So, I went in to get the parts for the M30 swap, and now wonder if I should go M50 instead. My car is an '87 eta car with a slipping clutch, and enough oil leaks that I think it would be more economical and interesting to do a drivetrain swap. Obviously, I'd do the work myself to keep it economical!
Long term plan would be Megasquirt and boost, as I've done on past projects.
