Looks like the body shop did a A+ job....are you still going to go through the entire repaint?

Part of the reason I didn't want to get another shell was that I simply love THIS car.
Another part was that when the car was stripped, there was very minimal rust, almost nothing to be honest. That's a testament to "zee Germanz" and even more so to the previous owner.
Yes, I am going to repaint it, it's a perfect time to do it. I still don't know what color, but I am leaning towards something crazy, like M3 yellow, it's only going to be a track car and possibly a race car next season
Something like this

Sorry for bumping an old thread, BUT...
It took much longer than I expected, but at least the cage is done.
All credit for this work of art goes to O'Brien Motorsports.
Now all I have to do is some minor crap like suspension, drivetrain, paint, etc...

P.S. Please note the latest breakthrough in racing seat design - lightweight and vented. I think I should patent it

Ron did a excellent job. I like! How did he weld the plate underneath on the front strut tower?

Beats me. I asked that question when I brought the car in as I though that it may be a problem, but he said he knows what to do about it... I guess he does.
I really like it. He made it a bit wider on my side, so that I could fit my fat ass seat in there.
He still has to tie it to the diff, but I have to get a new rear subframe first, as mine is slightly bent.

Oh, shit, Fil! I forgot to call you. Yes, I will take it. Also the the rear E36/E30 M3 hubs.
I need trailing arms with offset bushings, if you have 'em.

Nice cage you have here, Gleb. The fabricator did an excellent job. Welds are great. Are you going to race with CTCC?

Thanks, I really like the design.
My car is way too old for the Touring Car if that's what you meant.
But I will be in the GT Sprints and possibly G70.

Very nice cage! and the car seems to come together nicely. Any plans for the heart?

Already ordered that from Bimmerworld.
I want it reliable enough for enduros and hope that I have enough time and money to rebuild it, mostly to re-fresh it... maybe a 288 cam, but nothing crazy (like you, godless S50 people).
