Headlamp Washers

Hey. When I bought my 2000 323, the salesguy said it had headlamp washer jets and they come out every 5 times you wash your windows. Do they actually do much? I'm not sure if they ever come out and wash since I'm in the car driving when I use them. I guess I can have someone sit in the car and wash my windows 5 times to see if I actually have them. Were headlamp washers stock in 323s? They're stock in 325s and 330s now.

I think its less than every 5, It just won't do it if you've just used the windshield washer a second before. You can see it if it sprays, should look like mist infront of your headlights. It sprays twice, the second time the spray should be seen by the time you release your windshield washer stick thing. And you can hear them

not sure how it works on E46, but on E36 it works like this
1. Start the car, turn on the low beams, spray your windshield (it will spray your windshield and headlights)
2. next time it will spay water on the headlights on the 5th time you wash your window. It resets after you turns off your car.

And yes it does a lot, it sprays the whole headlight with a highpressure water

To the point where you will soak someone if they are standing in front of your car.

They will operate the first time you hit the washer with the headlights on, and every 5th time after that. I really like them on the E46, it's typically my grand entrance when I pull up to people (scares the crap outta them).
