84 318i - gas pedal question

Hi,

I am a new owner of 84 318i.
The engine and tranny work great, but body and interior need work.
The only issue is that I need to press the gas pedal hard to the floor to accelerate. I checked the cable at the throttle body and it is tight. Do I need to adjust the pedal and how ?

Thanks !

I am asking about adjustment of the pedal.
There is no need for WD40.

it has been know for the throttle cable to stick near the pedal and not allow you to accel until you really push it.
If its not sticking, then you have other issues, I doubt the pedal is to blame.
