oil question?

hey guys
what type of engine oil should i use on my 86 325E for the summer??

call bmw? they dont need anything remarkably special, you dont have to put in the $10 a liter stuff just cause its a bimmer. if you want to, then by all means. but the stuff on sale at crappy tire will probably work just as well if your not drivin the heck out of it, and its way easier on the pocketbook.

10w30 is a really common weight, tho, for year round.

20W-50 for summer.
10W-40 for winter.

Non-synthetic, Castrol GTX is a good choice. Using anything thinner is torture on an M20.

yup thats what i used last summer 20w50 and the winter 10w30
my friends are telling me to use the luces bottle and with the 10w30 all season round

10W-30 is too thin on the hot side. Don't use it.

i think i'm sticking with 20w50 for this summer gastrol gtx oil.
and 10w40 for the winter well i dont drive the car in the winter i have it parked..i turn it on once in awhile..
