EVO swap is going ahead

I purchased an EVO S50B32 engine and 6 speed for my 99 M3. It was delivered from the UK this week. I will be doing the swap in a week or so. At the same time I am changing the diff to 3:64 and 40% lockup. This should make my car a little quicker.

My current engine (3.2L 240 hp) with the wiring harness and airbox, 5 speed transmission and drive shaft, as well as the entire exhaust system are for sale. There is only 77,000 kms on it. I will not seperate the parts. The entire package is going for $7500. pm me if you are interested.

No, you're right. Euros sell for that much, with the 6 speed.

You're about 1-2 years ahead of me... I would really like to keep track of your swap for future knowledge if you don't mind.

The euro's do sell for around that with comparable mileage but from what I have seen (and purchased) it does not include the exhaust system or transmission. They also do not usually include full service records, or brokerage fees, taxes and duty when it is imported to Canada.

exhaust isnt needed. most people go aftermarket/custom anyways

as far as customs/brokerage fees. there are companies in the US that import them. And you can just buy direct from them.

as for the tranny, if i recall correctly. they are the same as the US/Canadian spec trannys. (with the exception of the 6 speed)

and if you want the 6 speed that bad, you can use the 6 speed from the E46 330, or Z4. Also im pretty sure the E46 M3 6 speed bolts up with some mods

Unfortunately our goverment still wants their cut. Made in Germany = we pay!!

The euro exhaust is 2.5" as compared the the 2.25" NA exhaust and the header on the euro is much longer. Yes you could modify the stock exhaust but why would you want to?

Euro m3 headers are equal length, as opposed to US m3's, so yes the headers are worth it.

the rest of the exhaust is pointless though, and is better just going custom.

Also, the e46 m3 transmission will bolt up the same as a eurospec 6speed transmission, but they cost the same amount. Might as well pick it up with the engine, rather than look for an e46 transmission too.

yeah but you can find a used E46 M3 trans from a wrecked one, locally. and cheaper.

where the hell are you gonna find a euro 6 speed locally?

plus, the E46 is newer, and most likely less mileage

Arrow

Despite the questionable asking price of your current drivetrain I'm very interested is following your progress with your car.

Best of luck with the swap!
