Question X5 3.0i question

2003 X5 3.0i

The review says that its a full-time AWD SUV. What's the difference between AWD and 4WD ? Does that mean it's bad on gas?

AWD = drives all 4 wheels all the time.

4WD = you can switch between all 4 wheels being powered, and 2 wheels being powered.

Bad on gas is all relative. But yes, the X5 3.0i will be worse on gas then say a 330i.
