What size of wires should I use?

Getting ready to get rid from 20-years old sound system in my e24 and install Alpine 9831 head unit and 4 new Pioneer speakers.

What AWG should I choose: 16, 14, 12 or, as usual, just any leftover wires I'll find in garage?

TIA
