Supercharger Questions...

I recently found an awsome deal on a Vortech 1000 supercharger. It's not a kit, but just the supercharger itself. I notice alot of import cars like hondas use them, and i was wondering if it's worth buying for my bmw 325i?

I'll obviously have to pay somebody to make me some piping to hook it all up, but i dont want to buy it if it wont work for my car.
I dont see any reason why it shouldn't, as i've put turbos on other vehicals where the turbo came off of other cars etc.

If you go to Vortech's website, you can see exactly which blower you're able to get because they make many different kinds. Be careful about choosing one. The Honda blowers are called the V9 series (the one I have) and are designed for engines with smaller displacement (<4.0L) so they hit boost down low around 1200rpm. They make the V1 which will also work, but again, have different variations on that unit (larger impellers, straight cut or helical cut gears, counter clockwise rotation etc...) A friend of mine installed a Powerdyne blower off a Mustang 5.0L (bought it cheap too) on his '94 325i and the blower hits boost at 3500rpm because that blower was designed for a bigger engine with more torque. I personally visited Vortech in Cali and got a small tour of the plant. They sponsored my car by giving my a V9 G-Trim blower for free as long as I promote them regularly in shows and magazines.

yeah for sure
the vortech 1000 is made for anything 3.0L and less i believe

i can pick one up used (20,000km) for $1000
so that's why i was wondering
