Stock shocks will work fine but if you lookin for a better handling car get some stiffer ones H&R makes a good set of springs and shocks

i cant afford springs + shocks right now, esp for the ix they are hard to find... but i found a place to order springs from, they drop it about 1.3 inches in the front and 1.2 in the back.. since i just want it for looks now it will do without new shocks, i can wait a bit till i get the shocks

How old are the shocks??
They will hold up,alot of people just get springs and leave stock shocks.I would rather collect for some coilovers.

It will be fine but may not last as long as it normally would have. If not valved to match your springs it is basically working harder than before. So no big deal in the meantime, you'd have saved enough by the time it gives up.

No they won't last, and your ride will be quite crappy.

you can "cut" inside the shocks hehe ... that way the shocks has more space to move

No, your car will suck. You'll bounce like a Honda down the 401 and blow the things very quickly. Don't cheap out on a safety item like suspension.

my suspension is surprisingly stiff.. even stock, it doesnt really bounce around i feel every little bump in the road
plus the bouncing is more from the springs than the shocks, no?
shit, i dont even want it slammed, i just wanna close up that gap between the fenders and the wheels and have a clean look... and i cant justify spending up to 800 dollars for it when i dont even know how much longer ill have this car

Bouncing is from the shocks, shocks have to absorb the bounce.Ever heard of the bounce test??
