how'd he do this to his sides?

normally when the side rubbing strips/ trims are removed, it'll look like this right? (andre's) look closely.

but i'd love this look when i go paint my car.
in the pic attached...

did he attached some sort of panel onto the sides? or is this how cabrios are made?

thankS!
cheers
Tom

i did the same to my car it takes alot of sanding though...i took off the mouldings welding metal where the holes were and filled it with fibre glass...came out good i like it much better than having the mouldings.

huh?? that's funny.. i mean the bottom looks like it is a panel by itself.. much like the M3's.

if you filled the "drain" with fiberglass, won't it be looking flushed??? can you tell me more please euroe30??

I think basically you want it to match the ridge on the top of the doors and fenders.. If you fill it in completely it won't look good at all, and the indent is deeper on the bottom of the molding then on the top.

Good luck.. it's going to take many hours of block sanding, but it's well worth the time!.. you should use the Breyton side skirts to cover the rockers and a Lumina front spoiler clip.. it will look titties!

slowered is right the lower part of the molding is a little deeper u just have to make sure that when u fill it in its perfectly straight and that the ledge is the same all along the car..it takes a really long time but good luck i think it will look amazing especially on ur car and that color..

What do u mean no line???? r u gona fill in that whole area and make it completely flush..meaning from the moulding all the way up to the door handle?????

tom when you remove the modlings there are holes in the door and quaterpanel, which hold the clips for the moldings, those have to be closed off, and that's it. Not a big job at all

umm, i don't really fancy that look but it should look damn smooth if there's no line where the rubbing trims were.

andre.

I know that this is off topic but could anybody tell me info on the silver convertable in post one. What wheels, kit and any other stuff done to it. It's one hell of a nice car.

Thanks.

Hey Euro_E30,

roughly how long of a process is it? I'm getting ready to order my kit in a week and I'm wondering if i should go crazy on the car and fill the channel or not. I really think that the car will look slammin with the color I have in mind if I fill the channels.
