Beat an S-Klasse!

This happened on friday, and was out of no where too!
So here I am sitting at a stop light, minding my own business, I notice a nice black mercedes pull up next to me. At the time I didn't know what kind of mercedes it was, (because of my lack of knowledge with those cars), but I managed to find a picture of what I believe it to be:

S-Klasse, but I am not sure if it was the V8 or V12 version, but most likely V8, and it was definately automatic.

So anyway, the light turns from red to green, and I floor it a little bit, not trying to race anyone. The next thing I hear is WOT from the mercedes beside me! Having too much pride to lose a race with the competition, I floor it all the way to the redline, then shift to second jumping ahead of him by half a car length!
Thinking to myself, I know the mercedes is a faster car, so when I shift into 3rd, I expected to lose.
Redline came too soon, and I needed to shift, and once I did the mercedes pulled on me almost an entire car length! (wow I must really be a bad shifter!). Not to give up, I floor it some more, and eventually pull an entire car length on the mercedes!! I couldn't believe it! Either my car really was faster due to many variables (mainly power/weight ratio, along with transmission), or the guy LET me win.
At the next stop light, the guy and I look at eachother and I notice he's about 60 years old! hahaha!

What do you think happened? Did he let me win?

p.s. this was before I had the supercharger installed.

Well, it could of been 1 of 4 models....... the S430, which is the base S, and it has the V8 with 275HP, the next one is the S500, which again has the V8, but with 302HP, next we have the S55 (the mighty AMG version) which again with the V8 has 493HP, and last but not least, is the S600, the only S with the V12 it has the same HP as the AMG, but its more luxury package ($120,000 I believe)

Maybe he let you win??? Oh, and all of them are auto's.......

It was probably the S430 then. I can't see myself winning against the rest unless the guy LET me win

We just got in a couple of the E55's now they are fast, 469HP and 516lb-ft of torque, 0 - 60 in 4.5 seconds (beats the M3 and M5, and even the Z8)....... not bad for a big automatic huh.

If it was the E55 AMG, he let u win. Cause those cars do 12.4 stock quarter mile. They come with a V8 Supercharged. Which is one fast Benz. If it was the S500 it might have let u win again. You should be albe to beat them with ur supercharger installed.

I smoked an s600 v12 I think it was a 99. Raced from pinevalley. the guy was young and shocked

if it was a young kind and a silver s600 w/amg package you've won forsure that kid is stupid. he lives on my street he's a terrible driver

Yeah, that would make more sense, if he was a bad driver and all, but man, how hard is it to drive an automatic???

old s600 are SLOW
keep in mind superM3's car is a supercharged m3, so he would eat old m3 alive.

Buddy your dilirious if you think th E55 AMG will break the 12 range. The best it does is a low 13. 13.2-13.5.

DJ any mercedes of the S class would beat you pal. They are fast but now you have a secret weapon. Congrats on the instal.

yups, my granddad has a E55, he likes to go sfast in the curves(cuz thats all ym country is, great driving)

but yeah its shit load fast
