Richie's new ride....

So sold the track car project and been looking all winter for another E30 for both street and track

Well this car found me!

I will let the pictures do the talking, some old school members may recall this monster, needless to say, I am eager for the warm weather to get here!

Car was never posted anywhere for sale, the owner contacted me to see if I wanted it.

So it found me, and I'm happy it did!

I have that same setup to go on the the front of my car right now. When the time comes for pads, one of the only places i could find that'd sell me 7812 shape Hawk pads was Porterfield Brakes. They just take a 7816 shape pad and mill it down in house. Unless you wanted to mill down a 7816 yourself. Every other vendor I tried wanted me to buy 10 sets at once to get the hawk produced 12mm pads.

And honestly if you're ordering from Porterfield or milling your own somehere, have a 7816 milled to .490 instead of .480. There's a lot of room between the pad and the rotor at .480.

All of this is moot if you're gonna run a Wilwood compound though.

Anyway, nice car.

I wouldn't have a problem ordering a set of 10, I'm sure I'll go through them, if I do I'll let you know if I get them if you want a couple sets.

I think massive lee may have the pads though

Sounds good man... Let me know if you're gonna order bulk pads. I'd chip in on a set or two. I also have excellent brokerage arrangements for bringing things across on the cheap. So maybe we could help each other out.

Anyway, my whole thing was I didn't know which pads I was gonna run so I bought a set of of Hawk HT-10 and a set Hawk Blues. Once I figure out what I like, I'll commit to bulk buying stuff. My dad also ran a wilwood caliper that used the 7816 pad on his 240Z race car so I have a set of Wilwood H compound, Q compund and some Carbotech from him. I want to run matched pads in the front/rear so I'm leaning towards the Hawk stuff.

What pads do you have on your car currently?
